Megan trains up to four times a week at Dokan's Redhouse and Downhill dojo’s. Megan has been training for four years and had very little competition success for the first three years but did have the conviction to stick with karate. Her sensei commented that it is very difficult when you start as young as Megan did - only five years old. Kids round you who are older develop much quicker and grade faster, they may also gain initial early competition success which can obviously have a demoralising effect upon a young child. Luckily Megan had the strength of character to stay with her chosen sport as did her two friends Eleisha and Chloe who also began training at only five years of age.

Dokan dominated the under 10 years kata at this competition.

The club won a total of one gold, three silver and eight bronze medals and finished seventh on the medal table. This is quite an accomplishment considering there were eighteen countries represented at the competition.
