English National Championships

ENGLISH KARATE FEDERATION’S ENGLISH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013.

20 bronze medals, 11 silver medals and 9 gold medals (in total 40 medals) won by Dokan karate club at England’s toughest competition says it all. Mixing it with the karate hierarchy and more than holding their own they proved yet again they are one of England’s finest competitive karate clubs.

Dokan only competed on the Saturday in the junior sections, with the majority of its entrants aged between 8 and 12, but the dedication of Dokan’s students, most of whom train 7 hours a week minimum, paid off with a fantastic, successful day.

Star of the day was, yet again, Lola Cassidy winning four gold medals out of the maximum five categories she could enter. The one category she didn’t win she lost to the eventual winner. Lola aged 8 trains 11 hours a week and has only been doing karate for a year and a half. Other gold medal winners were Grace king from Fulwell, Chloe Million from Town End Farm and Eve Palmer from East Boldon.

The whole of the club performed brilliantly with all of their defeats by the narrowest of margins.
