ASSOCIATION SQUAD TRAINING SESSIONS

DOKAN ASSOCIATION SQUAD TRAINING SESSION 12.6.2016.

Dokans first association squad training session was held today aimed not only at our current squad but at our squad for the future.

Session one was for the low grades below 7th kyu ( yellow belt) we had an attendance of 38 students most aged between 7 and 9 years old. What a fantastic turn out for a novice section which gives me great optimism for Dokans future squad. Plus the standard of these peewees was excellent.

The mid-grade section and the high grade sessions both had over 20 attending which hit all predicted targets.

These sessions were to introduce our association clubs to Dokan squad both new and old who are the envy of many other associations and clubs throughout the land. To build a bigger stronger Dokan we need to support the association and merge together for such events. No one has a better junior squad and the association clubs should be taking advantage of what we have to offer.

Judging by all the nice text messages it was very popular with the kids and I think everyone enjoyed the whole day. Thanks to Senseis Ron, Wes, Dave, Lyndsey, Alistair and Derek for supporting the event I hope you enjoyed the exercise too. I will add I was knackered for two days after the sessions. Also thanks to everyone who was involved with the whole event from setting up to running shops and packing away. A special thanks to Hannah Nicholson and Eve Palmer who helped from start to finish in the dojo and must of been exhausted.

In total we had a turn-out of over 80 students over the three sessions this is a pleasing result for our first try. There is some great talent coming through the ranks of Dokan yet again.
