Autumn Grading 2012

It is said that good things come in small packages, and so it was with this grading. Only sixteen students were examined but the standard was exceptional.

Summer Grading 2015

Dokan karate club can now add to their ranks four black belt second dan cadets after their brilliant performance at Sundays grading ceremony.

The four are Liam Mackell 16, Becky Purvis 13, Eleisha Mitchinson 12 and Megan Purvis aged 11.

Winter Grading 2012

On December the 9th Dokan held it's winter grading at Redhouse, and with about 70 kyu grades and 6 going for Dan grades it was a busy affair. As the bulk of the club missed the Autumn grading the students were well prepared for this one and the standard was fantastic.

Summer Grading 2013

What a fantastic display of karate skill, power and determination was shown this June at our Summer grading ceremony.

Every year choosing the recipients of our grading trophies becomes more and more difficult because every year the standard gets higher. This year was exceptional with the club at its zenith.

Summer Grading 2015

Despite 2015 summer grading being our largest ever, I kept the panel small and friendly, inviting Lyndsey Potts and Cuthbert Tatters to help out alongside regulars Sensei Ron & Sensei Wes Chatterje. A big enough panel to deal with the day and a busy day it was, but thankfully another excellent day as Dokan students yet again showed their class.

On the 24th of March we had our spring grading, a lot of low grades attended but most of our high grades will wait till june for our large summer grading ceremony.

Spring Gradings

This year our spring grading was a smaller affair than usual but the standard of the students was higher than usual. The fact the date clashed with the Easter holidays caused a few problems but this was the only Sunday free till late May.

3 New Black Belts 2012

The Dokan Karate Club is proud to present its three new Black Belt students Eleisha Jane Mitchinson aged 10, Brad Million aged 15 and Aidan Alsaadoun aged 10. All passed their 1st Dan grade on Sunday 24.06.2012.

The Autumn grading was held on the 13th of October. Only 25 students had a good enough standard to take their grade examination but the standard throughout the grading was good.
